Secondary Cover Supervisor – No Teaching Qualification Needed

Location: Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT)
Pay: £120 per day
Flexible work available

We are currently recruiting Secondary Cover Supervisors to work in a secondary school in Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT). This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to gain classroom experience, start a career in education, or work flexibly around other commitments.

Many of our Cover Supervisors go on to careers as teachers or education support staff.


The Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom when a teacher is absent and supervise lessons that have already been planned.

You will help ensure students stay on task and maintain a positive learning environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising pre-prepared lessons for students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Ensuring a calm and focused learning environment
  • Taking registers and following safeguarding procedures
  • Supporting and encouraging students to complete their work
  • Reporting back to teaching staff after lessons

Who This Role Is Ideal For

This position is perfect for people who enjoy working with young people and want to build experience in schools.

School experience is helpful but not essential.

Successful candidates will be:

  • Confident and able to lead a classroom
  • Strong communicators
  • Calm and professional when managing behaviour
  • Reliable and organised
  • Flexible to work across different schools in RCT

A driving licence is helpful but not essential.


Requirements

Before starting work you will need:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • Education Workforce Council (EWC) Registration
  • Two professional references covering the last two years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
