Science Teacher – Secondary School – Tameside

Location:Tameside
Start Date:September 2025 (or earlier if available)
Contract Type:Full-time, permanent or long-term
Salary: £150 - £230 per day (depending on experience and responsibilities)

Teaching Personnel is supporting a forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Tamesideto appoint a dedicated Science Teacher to join their team from September.

About the school:

  • Modern science labs and access to practical resources

Key duties:

  • Teach General Science to KS3 and your specialism at KS4 (Biology, Chemistry or Physics)

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons with a strong emphasis on practical learning

  • Prepare students for GCSE exams using targeted interventions and progress tracking

  • Collaborate with the Science department and SEN team to ensure inclusive practice

  • Attend parents’ evenings, CPD and departmental planning sessions

What the school is looking for:

  • QTS (or QTLS) and experience teaching Science in UK secondary schools

  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for science education

  • Ability to inspire students and build positive relationships

  • Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school

ECTs are encouraged to apply – full support and mentoring will be provided. This is a full-time position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
