Science (Chemistry) Teacher – Secondary School in Stockport

Position: Science Teacher – Specialism in Chemistry
Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner for the right candidate)
Contract Type: Full-time, temporary-to-permanent opportunity
Salary: £32,916 - £51,047 per annum (MPS1 – UPS3, dependent on experience)

Teaching Personnel is working with a well-regarded secondary school in Stockport to recruit a dynamic Chemistry Teacher to join their Science department from September. The school is committed to delivering outstanding Science education and is looking for a subject specialist who can bring Chemistry to life in the classroom.

Role Overview:

  • Teach Chemistry to GCSE level and general science to Key Stage 3.

  • Deliver lessons that are engaging, practical, and academically rigorous.

  • Use data effectively to track progress and plan interventions where needed.

  • Foster a love of learning and enquiry in a supportive classroom environment.

  • Participate in curriculum planning, CPD, and wider school activities.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS and has a strong academic background in Chemistry.

  • Experience teaching Chemistry at KS4 and science at KS3.

  • Effective classroom management and differentiation strategies.

  • Enthusiastic about making science accessible and enjoyable for all learners.

  • Willing to contribute to extracurricular STEM and enrichment activities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
