Job description

Start Date: ASAP

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a reliable and confident School Driver to support a school in the Leigh (WN7) area.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for collecting one or multiple pupils from their homes, ensuring they are ready for collection (including knocking on doors where required), and safely transporting them to school. You will also complete the return journey in the afternoon.

Pick-up locations may include:

  • Leigh
  • Irlam
  • Little Hulton
  • Lowton
  • Eccles

Working Hours

  • Morning: 09:00 – 10:00
  • Afternoon: 14:00 – 14:30

Pay

  • £14.00 per hour
  • Any additional time worked due to traffic or delays will be paid

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport pupils to and from school
  • Knock on doors / liaise with families to ensure pupils are collected on time
  • Build positive relationships with students
  • Engage in friendly and appropriate conversation during journeys
  • Ensure a calm, safe and supportive environment in the vehicle

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Own vehicle
  • Business insurance (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Confident, reliable and punctual
  • Comfortable working with children

About You

We are looking for someone who is approachable, patient and professional, with the ability to build rapport with young people and ensure they feel safe and comfortable during transport.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
