Job description

Location: Mainstream Primary School, Coventry
Contract: Full Time (8:30-15:30 Monday - Friday)
Salary: Paid to Scale - experience dependant

 

The Role:

As a Resource Base TA, you will provide essential support for children with complex needs, helping them access learning through play, structured activities, and personalised interventions. You will also support children with personal care, emotional regulation, and social development, ensuring they are ready and able to engage with the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support for children with complex needs
  • Assist with personal care, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene where required
  • Support children’s learning through play-led approaches and flexible curriculum delivery
  • Implement regulation breaks and sensory strategies to help children engage and learn
  • Promote social, emotional, and physical development in line with individual plans
  • Maintain accurate records of progress and contribute to observations, reports, and planning
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure a holistic approach to each child’s development

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience supporting children with complex needs, or transferrable experience such as children’s care, nursing, or healthcare
  • Is skilled at supporting personal care while maintaining dignity and respect
  • Understands the importance of play, flexible learning, and regulation strategies in education
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
  • Works well in a team and values collaboration to support children’s progress
  • Is committed to promoting inclusion and positive outcomes for all children

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experience supporting children with complex needs preferred, or transferrable experience in childcare, nursing, or healthcare
  • Knowledge of special educational needs (SEN) strategies is advantageous
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or health are desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
