Job description

Teacher of Religious Education (RE – 2nd in Charge)

Full‑time
Start date: September 2026

 

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and forward-thinking Teacher of RE who would also be 2nd in charge of the Faculty.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate RE specialist who is dedicated to inspiring young people and making a meaningful contribution to a vibrant secondary school community.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach Religious Education across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities may be available for the right candidate)
  • Deliver engaging, inclusive and well‑structured lessons that promote curiosity, critical thinking and respect for diverse beliefs
  • Plan, assess and track student progress in line with curriculum and school expectations
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school and the Humanities department

The successful candidate will love the challenge of working with teenagers and committed to supporting them to be creative, reflective and resilient learners. This role is suitable for an experienced teacher.

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has a strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Religious Education
  • Demonstrates high expectations of student achievement and behaviour
  • Is reflective, organised and committed to professional development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
