Are you the kind of person who can turn a tough morning into a great day with a smile, a calm approach and a little bit of patience? Do you love helping children grow in confidence and celebrating the small wins that make a big difference? If so, we would love to hear from you!

We are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in CF10 that is looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Reception-aged pupil from January. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is nurturing, resilient and passionate about helping young children thrive during the most important stages of their development.

This role is much more than sitting alongside a child throughout the day. You'll become a trusted adult, a positive role model and a key part of helping a young learner build confidence, independence and social skills within the classroom environment.

What you'll be doing:

✅ Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a Reception pupil throughout the school day

✅ Building a positive and trusting relationship with the child

✅ Supporting learning through play-based activities and creative approaches

✅ Encouraging communication, engagement and participation within class activities

✅ Helping manage emotions and promoting positive behaviour strategies

✅ Supporting personal, social and emotional development

✅ Working closely with the class teacher, ALNCo and wider school staff to ensure the best outcomes for the pupil

✅ Tracking progress and celebrating achievements, no matter how big or small

We're looking for someone who:

Has experience working with children in any setting, including schools, nurseries, childcare, youth work, clubs or care environments

Has a naturally patient, calm and caring approach

Can build positive professional relationships with children and staff

Is confident adapting activities to meet individual needs

Can remain positive and resilient during challenging situations

Has strong communication skills and a proactive attitude

Understands the importance of consistency, routine and encouragement for young children

Is passionate about making a genuine difference to a child's educational journey

What's on offer?

✨ A rewarding role where you'll see the impact of your support every day

✨ Friendly and supportive school leadership team

✨ Opportunity to develop your school-based experience

✨ A welcoming Reception team who genuinely work together

✨ Competitive daily pay

✨ Potential for a long-term placement

The ideal background:

Whether you've worked as a Teaching Assistant, Nursery Practitioner, Childcare Worker, Support Worker, Youth Worker or have experience supporting children with additional learning needs, we'd love to hear from you.

Some children need a little extra support to flourish, and that's where you come in. If you're caring, enthusiastic and ready to be the person who helps a child gain confidence, make friends and enjoy school every day, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
