About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified History Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school in Walsall from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who is committed to inspiring students and developing a love for history through engaging and creative teaching methods.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality History lessons across Key Stages, creating a positive learning environment, and supporting students in reaching their full academic potential. You will work closely with the wider department and school team to deliver a broad, engaging and challenging curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured History lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement.
- Create an inclusive and positive classroom environment that encourages participation and learning.
- Differentiate lesson plans to meet the varying needs and abilities of students.
- Maintain effective classroom management and uphold school behaviour policies.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and leadership teams to support student development.
- Contribute to departmental planning and wider school activities where appropriate.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching History within a secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for History.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their best.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
