Job Opportunity for Psychology Graduates in Birmingham

Teaching Personnel is collaborating with special schools in Birmingham and is actively searching for Psychology graduates to join as Learning Support Assistants immediately.

Position: Psychology Graduate - Learning Support Assistant
Location: Birmingham
Work Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
Start Date: Immediate
Employment Type: Temporary to Permanent (for suitable candidates)

We also welcome graduates with qualifications in Psychology, Criminology, Sports Science, Sports Coaching, Social Work, Educational Studies, Youth and Community Studies.

As a Psychology graduate working in this role, you'll be supporting children and young adults with additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, Mild/Severe Learning Difficulties, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health conditions. Your responsibilities will extend to both in and around the classroom. To excel, you'll need adaptability, flexibility, the ability to quickly build positive relationships, strong communication skills, and a caring, empathetic nature.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology (or related field).
  • Highly desirable: Previous experience working with children or individuals with special needs.
  • Must have a DBS check or be willing to apply for one.
  • Key attributes: Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the development and well-being of children.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
