Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (Psychology Graduate)
Location: Coventry/ Warwickshire
Salary: Dependant on Experience - Paid to Scale
Contract Type: Full-time
About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Psychology graduate to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to apply their knowledge of human behaviour and development in a practical setting, while gaining hands-on experience supporting learners with diverse needs, including special educational needs (SEN) in mainstream Primary schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual learning needs
- Assist in implementing personalised learning and behaviour support plans using evidence-based strategies
- Support students’ emotional, social, and academic development
- Apply understanding of behaviour and learning to promote positive engagement and wellbeing
- Observe, monitor, and record student progress, identifying patterns and areas for development
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN coordinators, and external professionals
- Help create an inclusive, safe, and engaging learning environment
About You:
- A degree in Psychology (or a related field)
- Strong understanding of child development, human behaviour and learning processes
- Excellent communication and active listening skills, with the ability to build positive relationships
- High levels of empathy and emotional intelligence
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations
- Strong observational and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to respond to individual student needs
- Genuine interest in supporting individuals with additional needs and inclusive education
- Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries (desirable)
- Previous experience working with children or vulnerable individuals (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
