Psychology Graduate Opportunity – Autism Base (Secondary School Setting)
Full-Time | April 2026 – July 2027 | £93 per day | Term-Time Only

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on, meaningful experience in education and mental health? This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school, working within a specialist Autism Base supporting pupils aged 11–16 with complex anxiety and additional needs.

This role is ideal for aspiring Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, or those pursuing a career in education, SEN, or mental health support. You will gain invaluable, real-world experience working closely with young people who require tailored emotional, behavioural, and academic support.

The Role:
As a key member of the Autism Base team, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism and complex anxiety needs
  • Support students’ mental health, emotional regulation, and coping strategies within a school environment
  • Help develop essential life skills, independence, and confidence
  • Assist pupils in accessing mainstream lessons, offering in-class academic support up to GCSE level
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN professionals, and pastoral teams
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support their progress and wellbeing

  • A degree in Psychology (or a related field)
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional resilience
  • An interest in child development, behaviour, and mental health
  • A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, term-time only
08:10am – 15:10pm
