We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a specialist Autism base within a mainstream school. This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Autism and additional needs as they work towards academic success and personal growth.
About the Role
In this unique position, you will:
- Support pupils with schoolwork up to GCSE level, helping them stay engaged and achieve their potential
- Act as a key link between the base and mainstream classes by liaising with subject teachers to gather and organise work
- Provide targeted revision support for exams
- Deliver nurture-based, holistic support, focusing on emotional wellbeing, confidence, and independence
- Help pupils develop the skills they need to integrate into the wider world, both socially and academically

This role is ideal for someone who:
- Has experience working with Autism, additional needs, and/or mental health challenges
- Is confident supporting academic learning up to GCSE level
- Is empathetic, resilient, and committed to building strong relationships with pupils
- Is organised and confident in communicating with teaching staff
- Has a genuine passion for supporting young people with complex needs
