Job description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated PSHE Teacher to join secondary schools across Hastings and the surrounding areas of East Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher who is committed to supporting students’ personal, social, and health education, helping them develop life skills, resilience, and wellbeing.

This role is suitable for experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and are looking for long-term, permanent, or flexible teaching opportunities.

The Role:

  • Teaching PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons on topics including wellbeing, relationships, mental health, careers, and citizenship

  • Supporting students’ personal development and promoting positive behaviour

  • Assessing, monitoring, and tracking pupil progress

  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and senior leaders

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

  • A recognised degree in Education, PSHE, or a related subject

  • Knowledge and understanding of the PSHE curriculum and statutory requirements

  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Ability to engage and motivate students on sensitive topics

  • A professional, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach to teaching

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
