Primary Teaching Assistant
Job description
We are currently recruiting Primary Teaching Assistants to work in a range of welcoming and supportive primary/SEN schools. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children’s learning and want flexible work across different school settings.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers to support pupils in the classroom, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment. Roles may involve supporting the whole class, small groups, or individual pupils who require additional help.
Key Responsibilities

Support the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities.

Work with small groups or individual pupils to reinforce learning.

Provide support in literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum areas.

Assist pupils with varying learning needs, including SEND where required.

Help maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment.

Prepare learning resources and assist with classroom organisation.

Supervise pupils during activities, break times, or school trips where needed.
Requirements
-
Previous experience working with children (school, nursery, tutoring, coaching, or similar).

A positive, patient, and supportive approach.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to adapt to different classroom environments.
-
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable
-
Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
-
Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
-
Knowledge of the UK primary curriculum.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
