Primary Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting Primary Teaching Assistants to work in a range of welcoming and supportive primary/SEN schools. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children’s learning and want flexible work across different school settings.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers to support pupils in the classroom, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment. Roles may involve supporting the whole class, small groups, or individual pupils who require additional help.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities.

• Work with small groups or individual pupils to reinforce learning.

• Provide support in literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum areas.

• Assist pupils with varying learning needs, including SEND where required.

• Help maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment.

• Prepare learning resources and assist with classroom organisation.

• Supervise pupils during activities, break times, or school trips where needed.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children (school, nursery, tutoring, coaching, or similar).

• A positive, patient, and supportive approach.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to adapt to different classroom environments.

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Desirable

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND.

• Knowledge of the UK primary curriculum.
