Primary School Teaching Assistant – Level 3

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

The Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join the school’s team. While your primary role will be to support learning across the classroom, there will be occasions where you will work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils who have Special Educational Needs (SEND), helping them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide general classroom support to the teacher and pupils.
• Assist in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
• Offer targeted support through 1:1 and small-group interventions for SEND pupils when required.
• Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor and track pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and the SENCO.
• Support pupils’ social and emotional development, encouraging independence and confidence.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience working in a primary school setting is desirable.
• Knowledge of SEND strategies and interventions is an advantage.
• Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting children.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
