Teaching Assistant (Primary School) – September Start

Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (Term Time Only)

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming local primary school in Chester-le-Street, starting in September.

This is a flexible role where you may work as a general classroom Teaching Assistant or provide 1:1 support, depending on the needs of the school.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
Work with small groups or individual pupils to support learning and progress
Provide 1:1 support for pupils where required
Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment
Support children with additional needs, including SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

Have previous experience working in a UK primary school setting
Ideally have experience supporting pupils with SEND
Be patient, adaptable, and passionate about supporting children’s development
Have strong communication and teamwork skills
Be reliable and committed to working full-time, term-time only
