Teaching Assistant (Primary School) – September Start
Chester-le-Street
Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (Term Time Only)

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming local primary school in Chester-le-Street, starting in September.
This is a flexible role where you may work as a general classroom Teaching Assistant or provide 1:1 support, depending on the needs of the school.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
- Work with small groups or individual pupils to support learning and progress
- Provide 1:1 support for pupils where required
- Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment
- Support children with additional needs, including SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience working in a UK primary school setting
- Ideally have experience supporting pupils with SEND
- Be patient, adaptable, and passionate about supporting children’s development
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
- Be reliable and committed to working full-time, term-time only

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
