About the role

Start date/End date: September 2026

Days/Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Pay: £172.98 per day

We are recruiting for an enthusiastic Early Career Teacher (ECT) or qualified teacher looking to begin or continue their teaching journey within a supportive Key Stage 1 (KS1) classroom. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact during the early stages of children's education, helping them build the confidence, skills and enthusiasm needed for lifelong learning.

As the class teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, creative and differentiated lessons that follow the Curriculum for Wales. You will support pupils in developing strong foundations in literacy, numeracy and communication through a range of practical, play-based and interactive learning experiences.

The successful candidate will create a positive, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued, safe and motivated to achieve their best. You will use effective behaviour management strategies, assess pupil progress regularly and adapt teaching to meet the varying needs of learners within the classroom.

Working closely with teaching assistants and the wider staff team, you will contribute to the academic, social and emotional development of pupils, encouraging curiosity, independence and resilience throughout their learning. While there are no designated 1:1 pupils within the class, any experience supporting children with additional learning needs (ALN) would be beneficial.

  • Has prior experience teaching (or Teaching assistant work) or completing placements within Key Stage 1 (KS1).

What you will need

  • To hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), including Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
  • An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service.
  • A current EWC registration.

Please note: If you do not currently have these, Teaching Personnel can support you with the application process. Fees for both checks are payable by the applicant.

  • Paid to ECT scale.
  • Free CPD courses to support your personal and professional development.
  • £50 referral bonus for every successful candidate you refer.
  • A dedicated Primary consultant as your main point of contact.
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference in a welcoming KS1 classroom.
