Job Title: Primary Teacher – Day‑to‑Day & PPA Cover
Location: Blackburn & Darwen
Contract: Flexible, part‑time or full‑time
Pay: £120–£150 per day (depending on experience & assignment)


About the Role

Teaching Personnel are seeking skilled and enthusiastic Primary Teachers to work across a range of mainstream primary schools in Blackburn & Darwen, providing day‑to‑day supply, short‑term cover, and regular PPA cover.

This role suits teachers who enjoy variety, adaptability, and strong classroom management. You’ll step into different year groups — EYFS through to Year 6 — ensuring high-quality learning continues in the class teacher’s absence.

This advert reliably attracts QTS and ECT teachers only, keeping applications relevant and experienced.


Requirements (Qualified Teachers Only)

Applicants must have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or ECT
✔ Strong behaviour management skills
✔ Confidence delivering lessons across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2
✔ Good curriculum knowledge
✔ Recent teaching experience in a UK primary school
✔ A valid enhanced DBS (or willing to apply)

❌ Not suitable for unqualified teachers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lessons across a range of primary year groups
  • Cover PPA time, planned absences and short‑notice cover
  • Follow existing planning or adapt confidently when needed
  • Provide effective behaviour management and promote positive learning
  • Maintain a safe, supportive and well‑structured classroom environment
  • Build rapport with pupils and staff across different schools
  • Contribute to high standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare
