Supply Teacher

Are you a dedicated Primary Teacher seeking flexibility and a range of teaching opportunities, including full-time, part-time, or day-to-day roles? Become a valued member of our approachable and supportive team, providing cover for local primary schools in Tameside and nearby areas. At Teaching Personnel, we collaborate with nurturing schools where you’ll have the chance to make a positive impact on young learners and contribute to their education through the UKS2 National Curriculum.

Job Type: Day -to- Day Supply Teacher (UKS2)

Salary: £130-160 per day

Start date: February 2026

What does the role entail?

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons aligned with school guidelines and the UKS2 National Curriculum.
  • Provide cover for both planned and unexpected staff absences across Year 5 and Year 6.
  • Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment that supports learning and pupil progress.
  • Adapt quickly to different classes, subjects and teaching approaches as required.
  • Follow pre-prepared lesson plans and confidently create own plans when necessary.
  • Promote student well-being and encourage positive behaviour throughout the school day.
  • Communicate effectively with fellow staff members to ensure continuity and collaboration.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and availability at short notice for emergency cover or scheduled absences (e.g., PPA, training days).

What are we looking for?

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification. 
  • Have prior experience teaching across Key Stage 2.
  • Experience in Year 5 or Year 6, particularly with SATs preparation, is desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrate a proactive and flexible attitude with strong adaptability.
  • Show confident classroom management skills to maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Deliver stimulating and effective lessons that engage pupils and support progress.
  • Possess an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
