Position: Supply Teacher

Location: Stockport

Salary: £130 – 230 per day

Contract Type: Short-, Medium-, Long-term

Responsibilities of a Primary Supply Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging lessons using pre‑prepared plans or your own adapted teaching.
  • Maintain a positive, well‑managed classroom environment.
  • Support pupils’ learning and wellbeing throughout the school day.
  • Quickly build rapport with different classes and school staff.
  • Follow school policies, safeguarding procedures, and behaviour guidelines.
  • Provide brief handover notes for the returning class teacher.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to suit different year groups and learning needs.

Requirement of a Primary Supply Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Recent or relevant experience teaching within primary settings.
  • Strong classroom‑management skills and the ability to adapt quickly to new environments.
  • A solid understanding of the primary curriculum across EYFS, KS1, and/or KS2.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • A valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Reliability, flexibility, and a positive, professional attitude.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
