Primary SEN Teaching Assistant (Mainstream School)

Location: Milton Keynes

Hours: Full-time (Mon–Fri, 08:30–15:30)

Pay: Competitive daily rate, paid weekly

Are you passionate about helping primary pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) succeed in a mainstream environment? We are looking for a dedicated Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive, inclusive mainstream primary school in Milton Keynes.

Your Role

  • 1:1 & Group Support: Guide pupils with SEN (including ASC and SEMH) to access the mainstream curriculum and build independence.
  • Differentiated Learning: Work alongside class teachers to adapt lessons and deliver Individual Support Plans (ISPs).
  • Inclusive Environment: Foster positive social interactions and help pupils integrate seamlessly with their peers.
  • Positive Guidance: Use proactive de-escalation and nurture techniques to support emotional regulation.

What You’ll Need

  • Experience: Prior experience supporting primary-aged pupils with SEND or SEMH in a school setting.
  • Skills: Patience, adaptability, strong communication, and Team Teach training (or willingness to train).
  • Compliance: Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) and full UK Right to Work.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
