Enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (South Manchester)
Location: South Manchester
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

The school caters to pupils with complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), and physical disabilities. This is a rewarding role for someone who is patient, adaptable, and committed to helping every child thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualised and small-group support to pupils with diverse and complex needs, ensuring full access to learning opportunities.
- Provide personal care assistance with dignity and respect, including hygiene and mobility support.
- Implement effective communication and behavioural strategies to promote engagement and positive outcomes.
- Facilitate sensory and therapeutic activities that encourage development and well-being.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver tailored learning plans.
- Accurately monitor and record progress, sharing insights with the class teacher and SENCO to inform next steps.
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (essential).
- Previous experience supporting children with complex SEN needs (school or care setting).
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, with a patient and empathetic approach.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to safeguarding.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
