Primary SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support Role

St Austell Area
Full-time | Part-time | Temp-to-Perm Opportunities
Daily Rate: £89.38 – £100 (depending on experience)

 

Do you have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and a passion for helping every child reach their full potential? We’re looking for a number of dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to provide 1:1 support for pupils in primary schools in the St Austell area. These roles are ideal for professionals who are patient, proactive, and committed to making a real difference in a child’s educational journey.

 

Your Role Will Include:

  • Providing individualised support to pupils with SEN, ensuring their learning and emotional needs are met
  • Assisting with classroom activities, interventions, and tailored learning plans
  • Supporting pupils with communication, social skills, and behaviour management strategies
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Helping create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families to promote progress and wellbeing

 


What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN (particularly in a primary setting)
  • Knowledge of strategies for autism, ADHD, speech and language, or social/emotional needs
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • Enhanced Child workforce DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
