Join Our Team as a Primary Teaching Assistant in Wigan – Starting September!
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to take on full-time Teaching Assistant roles in primary schools across Wigan, starting this September.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting young learners, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them build confidence and achieve their full potential. If you have experience in education or a passion for working with children, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a rewarding school environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide targeted 1:1 support and assist with small group learning
• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons
• Help pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally
• Support classroom behaviour management and create a positive learning environment
• Track and report on pupil progress where required
We’re Looking For Candidates Who:
• Have a passion for supporting young children in a primary school setting
• Are patient, caring, and adaptable, especially when working with SEN pupils
• Possess strong communication and teamwork skills
• Are proactive, reliable, and eager to develop their skills in education
• Live in or can commute to Wigan and surrounding areas

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
