Primary School Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join a warm, forward-thinking primary school team in the Swansea area. This is a hands-on, purposeful role that is deeply rewarding. • Daily Rate: £92.63 per day

What You’ll Be Doing as A Teaching Assistant

• Working alongside class teachers to support general, whole‑class learning.
• Supporting behaviour for learning and promoting positive routines.
• Preparing resources, setting up activities, and maintaining a calm classroom atmosphere.
• Assisting individual pupils within the mainstream environment to help them regulate and focus.
• Creating a supportive, encouraging environment where children can practise skills at their own pace.
• Building trusting relationships that help children feel safe, confident, and ready to learn.

 Your Day May Also Include

• Delivering targeted one-to-one support for specific pupils.
• Leading small group interventions to boost social and academic skills.
• Supporting learners within mainstream classrooms during integration periods.
• Delivering personalised learning activities tailored to individual needs.
• Following Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation, and social development.
• Supporting pupils during breaktimes, lunchtimes, and educational visits

Essential Requirements

• Personal or professional experience supporting children
• Minimum of 5 GCSE’s including English and Mathematics
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• An enhanced DBS registered on the update service (Or willing to apply)
• It is also desirable to have previous experience working with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
