Are you an experienced Primary Teaching Assistant looking for a flexible role where you can make a real difference?
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and confident Teaching Assistant to provide intervention support across a range of welcoming primary schools in the Gateshead area.
Starting in September, this flexible role is ideal for an experienced TA who enjoys variety and is passionate about helping pupils reach their full potential. You'll work in different primary schools throughout the week, delivering targeted intervention sessions to small groups of children who require additional support.
The Role
As an Intervention Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Deliver planned intervention sessions to small groups of 4–6 pupils.
- Support children across Maths, English and Phonics.
- Help pupils build confidence, close learning gaps and make measurable progress.
- Work collaboratively with class teachers and school staff to ensure interventions are effective.
- Adapt quickly to different school environments while maintaining high standards of support.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working as a Teaching Assistant within primary schools.
- Is confident supporting pupils across all Primary Key Stages (EYFS, KS1 and KS2).
- Has experience delivering or supporting intervention programmes in Maths, English and Phonics.
- Is confident leading small group sessions independently.
- Holds excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
- Is flexible, reliable and enjoys working in a variety of school settings.
- Has access to a vehicle and is willing to travel to schools across the Gateshead area.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
