Primary Class Teacher

Primary Teacher – Barnstaple

Teaching Personnel is recruiting Primary Teachers to work in mainstream schools across Barnstaple and the surrounding areas.

This permanent, full-time role is ideal for qualified teachers who enjoy teaching pupils across Key Stages 1 and 2. You will take responsibility for planning, delivering, and assessing learning, supporting pupils to access the curriculum, and ensuring their progress and development.

Salary: £34,822 – £51,047 per year
Start date: ASAP
Contract: Permanent, full time, term time only

The role includes
• Planning and delivering lessons across multiple classes or year groups
• Supporting pupils through whole-class, 1:1, or small-group teaching
• Delivering interventions and adapting teaching approaches to meet pupils’ abilities and needs
• Assessing pupil progress and providing feedback to support development
• Maintaining classroom management and a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment
• Supervising pupils during transitions, break times, and unstructured parts of the school day
• Encouraging inclusion, participation, and confidence in all learning activities
• Collaborating closely with teaching assistants and other staff to ensure consistent provision

We are looking for candidates who
• Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) (essential)
• Are confident teaching across Key Stage 1 and 2
• Are calm, resilient, and adaptable
• Have strong communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills
• Are passionate about helping pupils achieve their potential
