Primary 1:1 SEN Tutor Required – CH4, Chester

Location: CH4, Chester
Position: Primary 1:1 SEN Tutor
Hours: Flexible, Part-Time
Rate of Pay: Competitive hourly rate

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a committed and compassionate Primary 1:1 SEN Tutor to support a primary-aged learner in the CH4 area of Chester. This role is ideal for a tutor who is passionate about helping children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

You will provide personalised, one-to-one tuition tailored to the student's academic, social, and emotional needs, creating a positive and engaging learning experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualised tuition in line with the student's learning needs and abilities.
  • Support progress in core primary subjects, including English and Maths.
  • Adapt teaching strategies and resources to accommodate SEN requirements.
  • Build the student's confidence, independence, and engagement with learning.
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate session records.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and relevant professionals where appropriate.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with primary-aged children.
  • Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs.
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable Experience

Experience supporting learners with one or more of the following:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs)
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Anxiety-based school avoidance

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
