Due to the uncertainty of the current situation, schools are seeking the support of Teaching Personnel to support their recruitment needs. We have been approached by a Primary School in Burnely who are looking to appoint a part-time PPA teacher to work across Key Stage 1 and 2 upon the reopening of schools in late February. As a PPA teacher in this particular school, you will be supported by an experienced Teaching Assistant and work from a detailed plan to deliver lessons across the foundation subjects including maths, English, including Art, Geography, History, PE and R.E. The school is relatively flexible regarding working hours and are willing to discuss this after the shortlisting process. The school are ideally looking for someone to work 3 days a week, but would however, considering increasing this to 4 days a week should this be a requirement of the right candidate.

The school are keen to consider both experienced candidates and NQT’s, but as stressed by the Head Teacher, a broad knowledge of the curriculum is essential- as is a positive working attitude and ability to establish strong working relationships. Although the behaviour at this school is considered to be generally good, learning and the routine of the children has been greatly disturbed so it is of paramount importance that the employed practitioner is confident and capable of implementing effective behaviour management strategies whilst working in accordance to their well supported policies.
