Start Date: 23rd February 2026 
Location: Morecambe (LA4)
Contract: Full-time, term-time
Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)


About the Role

A warm, inclusive, and forward-thinking primary school in the Morecambe area is seeking a dedicated Phonics Interventions Teaching Assistant to support pupils across EYFS, KS1, and lower KS2. This role is ideal for someone passionate about early literacy and confident delivering structured phonics support to help children build essential reading skills.

You’ll work with small groups and 1:1 learners, delivering targeted interventions using programmes such as Read Write Inc., Letters and Sounds, or similar schemes. With over 30 languages spoken across the school, this is a brilliant opportunity to make a meaningful impact—especially for pupils with EAL or early communication needs.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver engaging phonics interventions for EYFS & KS1 pupils
  • Support pupils with early reading, blending, segmenting, and decoding
  • Adapt resources and activities to match learning needs
  • Track progress and provide feedback to teachers and the SEN team
  • Work collaboratively with staff to raise literacy attainment
  • Create a calm, encouraging environment that boosts confidence
