A high-performing mainstream secondary school in Blackburn, Lancashire, is seeking a talented Teacher of Performing Arts to join their successful department on a 12-month maternity cover from May 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality Performing Arts lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Plan and deliver engaging, imaginative schemes of work that inspire creativity and confidence.
• Direct or support school productions, showcases, and extracurricular clubs.
• Assess and monitor student progress in line with curriculum expectations.
• Contribute positively to a vibrant, collaborative department.
• Uphold excellent behaviour management and safeguarding standards.

Requirements

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
• Strong subject knowledge in Drama, Dance, or broader Performing Arts.
• A creative, energetic teaching style with the ability to engage all learners.
• Experience teaching in a secondary school setting.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
