Physical Education - PE – October Start - Mainstream Secondary School

Do you believe Physical Education not only teaches pupils how to perform at high standards in a variety of sports, but also to understand the principles of how to lead active and healthy lifestyles, and develop an abundance of life skills?

Teaching Personnel have partnered with a Secondary School in Reading who are seeking a PE Teacher who shares the same core beliefs and values of the power of physical education and its lifelong effects on their students as they do. The role would be to teach PE to pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4. They are a progressive and vibrant school that focuses on raising the aspirations and releasing the potential of every young person in our care. The school is a successful 11-18 school with a strong focus on learning in all aspects of its work. The school is at the forefront of many educational initiatives and has a very positive attitude to change.

The Head Teacher who we have a great relationship with and the Senior leadership team prides themselves on the not only the growth of their students but of their staff as well. 

The school are looking for an outstanding Teacher of PE who is able to deliver high quality lessons, the PE department is extremely well resourced. PE is taught to all pupils across all year groups. There is a great commitment from pupils towards PE within the school. 

About the role

  • Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualifications – we also welcome applications from Early Careers Teachers.
  • Role commences from October 2022
  • Have experience teaching PE up to KS5
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Effective organisational skills, with the capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Enhanced ‘Child Only’ DBS registered with the Update Service
  • Residing in the UK to comply with the DBS requirements

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
