PE Teacher – Secondary School – Glastonbury
Full-Time | Permanent | Start Date: April

A vibrant and forward‑thinking secondary school in Glastonbury is seeking a motivated PE Teacher to join their dynamic PE department. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher or an enthusiastic ECT looking to grow within a supportive, student‑focused environment.

The Role

As a PE Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver motivating and inclusive PE lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Promote fitness, teamwork, resilience, and a positive sporting culture
  • Teach a broad curriculum that encourages engagement from students of all abilities
  • Monitor progress and support pupils in developing key physical and personal skills
  • Contribute to the planning and development of the PE curriculum
  • Lead or assist with extracurricular sports teams, clubs, fixtures, and enrichment events

Ideal Candidate

You will be:

  • A qualified PE Teacher with QTS (or an ECT approaching qualification)
  • Confident teaching KS3 and KS4 PE lessons
  • A strong communicator with solid subject knowledge
  • An inspiring role model who motivates students to reach their potential
  • A team player with high expectations and a positive approach
  • Able to build strong relationships and engage pupils of varying abilities

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong subject knowledge in Physical Education
  • Ability to deliver PE confidently at KS3 & KS4
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
