PE Teacher (Temporary to Permanent Opportunity) - Drakes Broughton - WR10

Salary - £150.00 - £250.00 per day (depending on experience)

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and dedicated PE Teacher to join a secondary school setting on a temporary basis, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The successful applicant will be passionate about promoting physical activity, healthy lifestyles, and sporting achievement while delivering engaging and inclusive lessons that inspire students of all abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Physical Education lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress and attainment.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and achievement.
  • Support students in developing physical, social, and personal skills through sport and physical activity.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the PE curriculum.
  • Organise and support extracurricular sports clubs, fixtures, and enrichment activities.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, attendance, and student engagement.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of students during all PE and sporting activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student achievement and whole-school improvement.

Person Specification

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Physical Education within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for sport and physical activity.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

The Opportunity

This role is initially offered on a temporary basis; however, there is the potential for a permanent appointment for a candidate who demonstrates a strong impact within the role.

All appointments will be subject to satisfactory references, an enhanced DBS check, and all relevant pre-employment checks. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people is essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
