PE Teacher – Secondary School – Dorchester
Full-Time | Permanent | Start Date: May

A dynamic and forward‑thinking secondary school in Dorchester is seeking an enthusiastic PE Teacher to join their committed and supportive PE department. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or an ambitious ECT eager to begin their teaching career within a student‑focused and aspirational environment.

The Role

As a PE Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver motivating and well‑structured PE lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Encourage teamwork, resilience, fitness, and a positive attitude toward physical activity
  • Teach an inclusive curriculum that supports participation and confidence for all pupils
  • Assess, track, and support student progress, helping learners develop key physical and personal skills
  • Take an active role in shaping and enhancing the PE curriculum
  • Lead or assist with extra‑curricular sports clubs, fixtures, competitions, and enrichment activities

You will be:

  • A qualified PE Teacher with QTS, or an ECT nearing completion
  • Confident in teaching PE at KS3 and KS4
  • An effective communicator with solid subject knowledge
  • A positive role model who encourages students to achieve their full potential
  • A team player who values collaboration and consistency
  • Skilled at building strong relationships with learners of all abilities

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong subject knowledge in Physical Education
  • The ability to teach PE confidently at KS3 and KS4
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
