SEN PE Teacher – Immediate or ASAP Start

Bury

Are you a passionate and energetic PE Teacher with experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a committed and motivating practitioner to join a specialist educational setting, delivering accessible, engaging and inclusive PE lessons to learners with a range of additional needs.

About the Role

As an SEN PE Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated PE lessons tailored to students with diverse needs (including ASD, SEMH, MLD and physical needs).
  • Promote physical development, movement skills, confidence and wellbeing.
  • Create a safe, structured and motivating environment that supports all learners to access PE at their level.
  • Work closely with support staff, therapists and the wider teaching team to ensure all pupils can participate fully.
  • Use positive behaviour management strategies and trauma‑informed approaches.
  • Encourage teamwork, communication and social development through structured activities and adapted sports.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Experience working in an SEN setting or supporting students with SEN in mainstream.
  • Strong understanding of adaptive PE, differentiated instruction and inclusive practice.
  • A creative, patient and resilient practitioner who can inspire students of all abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
  • A passion for promoting physical activity, wellbeing and confidence in young people.
