Setting: 4–16 SEMH & SEN Specialist Provision
Contract: Permanent

A specialist school in Farnborough is seeking a PE Teacher or Sports Coach to join its team on a permanent basis. The school supports pupils aged 4–16 across both SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) and SEN provisions, providing a structured and nurturing environment for young people with additional needs.

The provision operates across two buildings within walking distance of each other, and the successful candidate may work across both settings. Classes are small (around six pupils) and supported by Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), allowing staff to build strong relationships and provide targeted support.

You will deliver engaging PE sessions that promote physical health, teamwork, resilience, and emotional regulation, helping pupils develop confidence and positive engagement with school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver inclusive PE lessons adapted to SEMH and SEN needs

  • Use sport to support behaviour, wellbeing, and personal development

  • Work across both SEMH and SEN provisions when required

  • Build positive relationships with pupils to support engagement and trust

  • Maintain a safe and structured learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • QTS or relevant PE / sports coaching experience

  • Unqualified candidates with strong PE experience are encouraged to apply

  • Experience with SEMH, SEN, or alternative provision (desirable)

  • Strong behaviour management, patience, and resilience

Salary: Paid in line with the relevant pay scale, depending on qualifications and experience. Full-time or part-time applications are welcomed.

A Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service is required, or applicants must be willing to obtain one.
