We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Support Officer to join a welcoming secondary school on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with students while also supporting key school functions behind the scenes.

Working as part of the school's Safeguarding, Attendance and Welfare Team, you will play a vital role in promoting student wellbeing, encouraging positive attendance, and helping to create a safe and supportive learning environment for all pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing pastoral support to students across the school.
• Assisting with attendance monitoring and implementing strategies to improve attendance.
• Supporting safeguarding procedures and maintaining accurate records.
• Building positive relationships with students, parents, carers and external agencies.
• Managing welfare concerns and signposting students to appropriate support services.
• Completing administrative tasks to support the safeguarding, attendance and welfare teams.
• Helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience working with children or young people.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
• A calm, empathetic and professional approach.
• The ability to build trust and positive relationships with students.
• An understanding of safeguarding practices (desirable but not essential).
• A genuine passion for supporting student wellbeing and success.
