Part-Time Teaching Assistant (Mornings Only)

Burnley | September 2026 Start

A primary school in Burnley is looking for a part-time Teaching Assistant to join them from September 2026, working mornings only.

This role will involve supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis who has additional needs. The school is looking for someone reliable and caring who can provide consistent support and help the child feel settled and supported throughout the school day.

What the role involves

  • Working closely with one child in the classroom
  • Supporting with learning activities and helping them stay engaged
  • Building a positive, trusting relationship
  • Assisting with personal care (this is an essential part of the role)
  • Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO

  • Experience working with children (school, nursery or care setting)
  • A calm, patient approach
  • Someone dependable who can commit to mornings
  • Comfortable supporting children with additional needs
  • Willingness to carry out personal care duties

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
