Part-Time Teaching Assistant (Lower KS2) – Sunderland
Location: Sunderland
Start Date: September
Days: 3 days per week
Pay: £95–£110 per day (paid weekly)
About the Role
Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a welcoming school in Sunderland who are seeking a dedicated and consistent Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a part-time role supporting a pupil in Lower Key Stage 2 on a 1:1 basis.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the pupil’s academic and personal development, helping them to access learning in a way that suits their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil in Lower KS2
- Follow and implement individual learning plans that are often pupil-led
- Support the pupil’s engagement, independence, and emotional development
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure consistent support
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience working with children with SEND
- A patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach
- Confidence in supporting pupil-led learning and following tailored plans
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to consistency and reliability

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
