Your Responsibilities
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide dedicated one-to-one support to pupils with Special Educational Needs
- Deliver personalised learning and intervention programmes
- Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
- Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
- Promote positive behaviour and wellbeing
- Monitor and record pupil progress
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure pupils receive the support they need
- Support small group activities when appropriate
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should:
- Have experience supporting children with SEN
- Have previous experience working within a primary school setting
- Hold a Level 2 Childcare qualification (desirable but not essential)
- Possess SEN-related training or qualifications (advantageous)
- Have knowledge of the KS1 and/or KS2 curriculum
- Be passionate about helping children achieve their potential
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and child welfare
