Outdoor Learning Support Assistant – Exeter

Permanent Role | September Start | Teaching Personnel

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a specialist education setting in the Exeter area to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Outdoor Learning Support Assistant for a permanent position starting in September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors and is passionate about supporting children and young people through hands-on, experiential learning. You will work alongside students with additional needs, helping them build confidence, resilience, independence, and essential life skills through outdoor education activities.

The Role:

  • Support students during a range of outdoor learning and educational activities
  • Work on a 1:1 basis and with small groups of pupils with additional needs
  • Encourage engagement, teamwork, and personal development through practical learning experiences
  • Promote confidence, resilience, and independence in a safe and supportive environment
  • Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to meet students' individual needs
  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with children or young people (school, youth work, coaching, or outdoor education experience is desirable)
  • Be passionate about outdoor learning and supporting students with additional needs
  • Be patient, resilient, and able to build positive relationships
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Be proactive, adaptable, and confident working in an outdoor environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
