Are you passionate about making a real difference in children’s lives?
Do you have a calm, nurturing nature and experience supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs?
We are working closely with a welcoming primary school in Gorton who are looking for a Nurture Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This role will involve working closely with a small group of children who benefit from a nurture-based approach to learning and emotional development.
What you’ll be doing:

Supporting pupils in a nurture group setting with SEMH needs
-
Providing structured emotional and academic support throughout the school day
-
Working closely with the SENCO, class teachers and external professionals
-
Creating a safe, calm and consistent learning environment
-
Encouraging positive relationships, routines and self-regulation strategies
What we’re looking for:
-
Experience working with children with SEMH, behavioural or additional needs
-
A nurturing, empathetic and patient personality
-
Someone who can build strong, trusting relationships with children
-
Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour, mental health, or child development (desirable)
Ideal for:
-
Teaching Assistants with SEMH or nurture experience
-
Psychology graduates or those with a background in pastoral support
-
Individuals with experience in care, youth work or alternative provision

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
