Teaching Personnel are working with a beautiful two form entry school in Crawley who are looking to recruit a Nursery teacher or Nursery Manager with the equivilent experience to work full-time within their nursery. The position is due to start in June 2023 and continue on for the right candidate. 

Every child is unique, with their own individual needs, strengths and interests, developing and learning in different ways, at their own pace. Your child’s contributions will be respected, valued and included in their further learning, building their confidence and self-esteem. We will also encourage positive attitudes towards themselves, others, the local community and their environment.

We welcome children from the term in which they turn 3 years of age as a 'Rising 3', catering for a maximum of 24 children in any one session.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide a safe, supportive and caring environment for young children in the nursery
  • Help with short/medium/long-term planning, as well as the preparation of daily activities and provide suitable play and learning opportunities
  • Working as a key worker, you will be responsible for carrying out regular observations and updating their development files/learning journeys and uploading photographs to tapestry
  • The key worker is responsible for a group of children, but as a member of a room the key person is also responsible for all the children in their care and will contribute to room planning 
  • Share development progress information with parents and/or carers, including through the writing of reports and attendance at parents evenings
  • Promote high standards of quality within the nursery in respect of the environment, resources and experiences offered to children
  • Help prepare children for their transition to pre-prep, including helping to liaise with teachers and to transfer relevant information as required

Person Specification 

  • Level 3 CACHE in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience of working within a childcare setting.
  • Excellent understanding of the EYFS framework and requirements.
  • Knowledge of the statutory legislation concerning health & safety and safeguarding of children. 
  • Paediatric First Aid & Food Hygiene training (or willingness to train).
  • Enhanced DBS Police check.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
