Location: Wimborne, Dorset
Contract: Permanent, full-time, directly with the college
Hours: 7:45pm to 8:15am | 4 nights on, 4 nights off
Average: 43.75 hours per week
Salary: £28,141.75 to £30,689.75 per annum
Additional Pay: £25 per night shift worked, approximately £4,000 extra per year

We are recruiting an experienced Night Support Worker for a specialist college near Wimborne, supporting young people aged 16 to 25 with autism, social, emotional and mental health needs and other additional needs.

This is a permanent position directly with the college, offering the opportunity to build a long-term career within a supportive specialist environment.

What Will You Be Doing?

Following a handover from the day team, you will support young people through their evening and overnight routines. Importantly, there are no personal care responsibilities within this position.

• Supporting evening activities, hobbies and routines.
• Helping students settle safely and comfortably for the night.
• Providing verbal and visual prompts based on individual needs.
• Offering emotional reassurance and being someone students can talk to.
• Encouraging independent living skills, including cooking, budgeting and housekeeping.
• Supporting health and medical needs throughout the night.
• Communicating effectively with colleagues, parents and carers.

Who Are We Looking For?

We need someone mature, dependable and confident enough to hit the ground running when joining a specialist setting. Experience supporting young people or adults with SEND, autism or SEMH needs would be highly valuable.

You must be aged 21 or over. Due to the rural location, a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.

This is not a temporary placement. Successful applicants will be employed permanently and directly by the college, with a salary of £28,141.75 to £30,689.75, plus £25 for every night shift worked.
