Job description

Are you a creative and enthusiastic Music Teacher seeking a rewarding new role? We are currently working alongside a welcoming secondary school in Hartlepool to appoint a skilled Music specialist who can inspire students and nurture a passion for music.

About the role

In this position, you will be responsible for delivering engaging Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting students in both their practical and theoretical development. You will encourage creativity, confidence, and academic progress through well-planned and inclusive teaching.

Key duties include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality Music lessons to mixed-ability classes
  • Teaching performance, composition, and music theory
  • Assessing progress and providing constructive feedback
  • Creating a positive, respectful, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Encouraging creativity, participation, and a love of music

About you

We are keen to hear from candidates who:

  • Hold a UK-recognised teaching qualification (QTS or QLTS) with a Music specialism
  • Have experience teaching Music at KS3 and KS4 in UK secondary schools
  • Are confident in delivering differentiated and engaging lessons
  • Have strong behaviour management and organisational skills
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service, or are willing to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
