Maths Teacher

Job description

  • Are you competent in the delivery of quality Maths lessons?
  • Can you confidently deliver lessons to large class sizes?

A school in Macclesfield is looking for a Maths teacher to join the teaching staff on a temporary basis. The required applicant will:

  • Hold QTS.
  • Be educated to degree level (preferably in Maths or a related subject)
  • Have experience working within a secondary school.

The position will commence after the Easter break, and will run through until the end of the academic year. Further key aspects of this position include:

  • Being able to effectively differentiate learning to cater for the needs of those with SEN, as well as those who require EAL support.
  • Be able to understand the complexities that often come with Maths as a subject, as well as successfully identifying those who require additional support.
  • Being able to work with students on both an individual level, as well as working alongside pupils on a group basis.
  • Offering consistent feedback to senior leadership with regards to issues regarding attainment, examination preparation as well as any issues of a pastoral nature that may arise within the classroom.
  • Managing expectations in line with school policy, regarding student’s general behaviour within lessons.
  • Working effectively in line with recommendations made by Ofsted.

Further aspects central to the role are:

  • Successfully delivering school curriculum, preparing adequate educational resources, catering for the needs of all students within the class.
  • Ensuring that tasks set allow students to remain engaged, and that homework tasks are relevant and aid development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
