Job description

A well-regarded and ambitious mainstream secondary school in Poole is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join their successful Mathematics department from April 2026 (or sooner by negotiation). This is a full-time position.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate practitioner to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 for a suitably experienced candidate. The successful applicant will play a key role in delivering a challenging and engaging curriculum that develops students’ confidence, problem-solving skills, and mathematical fluency.

The school is known for its supportive leadership team, strong pastoral care, and commitment to high standards of teaching and learning. The Mathematics department works collaboratively to share best practice, develop resources, and ensure all learners are supported to achieve their full potential.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Have experience teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4

  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging lessons

  • Be committed to raising attainment and supporting students of all abilities

  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and academic progress

  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school

This role would suit an experienced teacher seeking a new challenge or an Early Career Teacher looking to develop within a supportive and forward-thinking department.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
