Maths Teacher

Location: South Manchester
Contract Type: Full Time, Long-Term Cover
Salary: Paid in line with the national pay scale (MPS/UPS)


About the Role

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to work across a range of secondary schools in South Manchester for ongoing long‑term cover positions. This is an excellent opportunity to experience a variety of school environments, broaden your teaching experience, and make a real impact on student progress. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality Maths teaching and inspiring students across KS3 and KS4.

Working across multiple schools offers variety, flexibility, and the chance to develop your practice while being supported by a specialist education recruitment team.


Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Teaching & Learning: Deliver well-structured, engaging Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4, ensuring students of all abilities are challenged and supported.
  • Assessment: Track student progress, provide constructive feedback, and deliver interventions when required.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with different Maths departments, adapting to each school’s policies, ethos, and curriculum approach.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge and genuine enthusiasm for Mathematics.
  • Ability to differentiate lessons effectively for varied learner needs.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and adaptability—particularly important when working across multiple schools.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
