About Us:

Teaching Personnel is a leading education recruitment agency dedicated to connecting talented educators with schools across the UK. We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Literacy Intervention Specialist to join a vibrant secondary school in South Manchester. This role is crucial in supporting students who require additional assistance in literacy to achieve their academic goals.

Salary:

£1,600 to £1,900 per month.

Role Overview:

As a Literacy Intervention Specialist, you will work closely with students who are struggling with reading and writing skills. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement targeted intervention strategies that cater to individual learning needs. You will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to create an inclusive learning environment that fosters literacy development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess students’ literacy levels and identify specific areas of need.
  • Design and deliver tailored intervention programs that engage students and promote literacy skills.
  • Monitor student progress through regular assessments and adapt interventions as necessary.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to enhance reading comprehension, writing proficiency, and overall literacy skills.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate literacy strategies into the curriculum.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and strategies for support at home.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and intervention outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Education, English, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working with secondary school students in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of literacy development theories and effective intervention strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
